Hello from the four dusty and humid corners of my humble abode!
I have been meaning to write and post this entry a few days ago but I got caught up with a few things like writing more entries for "For Amanda", editing photos for the sports shoot I did last weekend, and of course scheduling posts for work. Oh and also, John Green's Paper Towns have kept me occupied too. The book's too good that I can't go a day without reading at least three or four chapters.
So anyway, I recently visited PopRock Bakeshop and Cafe with a fellow Tumblogger! Faith and I talked through Tumblr ask a few weeks back. When I knew she was from Cagayan de Oro too and that she hasn't seen CDO the way a true blue Kagay-anon should, I didn't hesitate inviting her to a blogger lunch out and PopRock Cafe was the right place to meet up. It's one of the baby steps she did to get to know the city a little better.
We were a bit lost at first because I didn't notice their big sign. The motorela literally passed by it and I didn't notice it! We stopped in front of a different cafe (that I tried a few months ago with another blogger) and I had to call up a friend for help. How embarrassing! I mean, I was supposed to be Faith's sort-of guide to the city's food scene and I failed to locate the cafe. Haha!
When we finally arrived in the cafe, it has this homey feel to it. I tried their Strawberry Shortcake since I wasn't really up for a heavy meal and I was craving for something sweet. It was a-okay. I loved the strawberry cream sandwiched in between the fluffy, pink cakes (I don't know about you but this description makes me laugh at myself!). Faith ordered a sandwich that I totally forgot what it was (curse you brain!). I should really start blogging about events that are still fresh in my memory.I ordered the regular ice tea and Faith ordered their pink one. Instead of using the usual tall glass they used ball mason jars.
I did a little research about the place and turns out, their main branch is located in Iligan City. I have a few regrets though because I didn't try their pastas. I've read a lot of reviews about it and most of them were very positive. I'll definitely come back and try more items in their menu! :D
