Ever since I blogged about Albert and Pebbles’ engagement photos for work, I knew I needed to visitThe Henry Hotel. Just by looking at their photos, it made me wish I could teleport to that place right then and there! And yeah... I wished that I’d have my pre-nup photos taken there too~hehe
My co-interns and I went to the hotel not only to see their interiors but also to see the art exhibit that James told me about. Unfortunately, when we got there the gallery was already closed (but I still had the chance to go back in a different day! More on that soon). So we proceeded to our plan B, which was to tour around the hotel’s lobby, second floor, and their cafe. I thought it wasn’t allowed at first since we weren’t hotel guests, but the people in the front desk were kind and they let us take pictures of their funky interiors.
Funky isn’t the only word that came into my mind. The hotel has a personality. If it were a person, I think it would be Cara Delevingne — fun, badass, young, and attractive. It’s not the usual hotel with fancy tiled floors, chandeliers, and glass windows. It’s more of a gallery. There are different designs of furniture and knick-knacks everywhere. Various painted portraits of Lady Gaga, Manny Pacquiao, and some vintage ladies are hanged on their walls. They even have a Volkswagen Beetle parked in their second floor.
The graffiti in their stairways, the huge high-chairs, and a replica of a graffiti art on the Berlin Wall painted in their cafe are my favorites. If I had money to spend on staying a night in the hotel, I would. I’m pretty sure their rooms have their own personalities too based on the photos that I saw.
The Henry Hotel puts “hotel accommodation” in a different light. Truly it is a “hotel like no other”. If you need a funky place to stay when you’re visiting in Cebu City, it is located at No.1 Paseo Saturnino Maria Luisa Road, Banilad. For their room rates, check out their website. Liking their Facebook page would be cool too if you want to be updated with their current promos and events.
