It's amazing how fast-growing the food places are in Cagayan de Oro. The city's starting to become a destination for everyone who loves affordable good food. One of the many cool places to dine in is The Backyard Grill.

It's amazing how fast-growing the food places are in Cagayan de Oro. The city's starting to become a destination for everyone who loves affordable good food. One of the many cool places to dine in is The Backyard Grill.
I first knew about the place from one of the best food bloggers in town, The Chubby Buddy. When I heard that it was a few blocks away from school, I tagged along two of my college friends during my first visit. I didn't get the chance to take photos of the place though, so I focused on enjoying their food. The next time I dined in the place, I tagged along one of my best college buddies. And I really made sure to take photos so I can show you guys how cool the place is.
The Backyard Grill had me at its funky wall full of typography. My favorite line would be, "You're cute and all but I'm not sharing my coffee."  And I couldn't agree more. When it comes to coffee, a person's cuteness doesn't mean he/she will get a free sip from my cup. Coffee's a serious thing~haha!
When I heard that they offer breakfast combos all day, my heart jumped in joy. I can never get enough of breakfast food! I swear, there's a special place in food heaven for anyone who serves all-day breakfast. Their tocilog never failed me. It makes you want to order another cup of rice. Their tapsilog is a-okay but to be honest, I had quite a difficult time chewing it. I guess they could improve on it a little, but taste-wise it was good nonetheless.
I have yet to try their best-sellers namely: the sizzling sisig, chicken paa and pecho, pork barbecue, and chicken isaw. Apparently, I have gone after their breakfast menu instead of their grilled best-sellers (that's how cruh-zeh I am about anything breakfast haha!). Also, I've heard and read a lot about how good their choco sizzle is. They're selling it for only 90 pesos and you'll get a chocolate cake, topped with ice cream, on a sizzling plate. It's something I shouldn't miss ordering when I come back to the place.
If you're looking for a new place to satisfy your taste buds and hang out with your friends, The Backyard Grill is the perfect place to try. It's located at Marfori Compound (in front of Chingkeetea), Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines.
