Weekly Favorites # 1

Saturday, August 20, 2016

Before diving right on to talking about my favorites this week, let me just congratulate myself for surviving such a crazy week. All that has kept me going is the thought that I'm a day closer to my next vacation (can September come reeeeeallyyy fast now?). I can literally hear the sound of waves crashing and feel the cold sea breeze right now. *sigh*  Steady, my heart.

Anyway, even though this week has been filled with so much work and deadlines, I still somehow managed to find time to come up with a few favorites when it comes to websites, articles, music, videos, and bloggers. Here are some of the stuff I've stumbled upon online:

  1. Apartment Therapy - I've been a huge fan of home websites since I started browsing through Pinterest for bedroom and work space designs for inspiration. What I love most about the website is their apartment tour videos. It's so addicting! There's just something about watching how other people design their spaces that interests me so much.
  2. The Beach People - TBP's round beach towels are pretty much in every Instagram photo I see on my Explore tab. I'm absolutely in love with their aztec prints and the way they market their products. Their website and Instagram pages are clean and well-curated. Plus, they publish good quality content with their products injected into it (sample article). Smart digital marketing strategies, TBP!
  3. Alessandra Cara - I have listened to a few of Alessandra Cara's songs before but didn't really paid much attention until I saw her music video for Scars To Your Beautiful. The song is beautifully written and the music video was so heartwarming. I loved every bit of it! Now I'm quite hooked to some of her songs like Wild Things and I'm Yours.
  4. Mimi Ikonn & Alex Ikonn - Ever since I watched Mimi and Alex's travel vlog about Positano and Sardinia, I instantly fell in love with how they document their trip. The couple are both business owners and vloggers. I love how they edit their videos especially when they included clips recorded by Tommy — their drone. It makes me wish I could teleport to those places.
  5. Jenn Im of Clothes Encounters - Jenn Im is another vlogger on Youtube that I absolutely love. Not only does she publish great videos (I love the way she edits them! So girly and cool!), her style is to-die for! She recently had a collaboration with Colour Pop and released a beauty line called Jenn Ne Sais Quoi. If I was a makeup junkie right now, I'd definitely get one for myself.
  6. Chriselle Lim - I first knew about fashionista and lifestyle vlogger, Chriselle Lim, through my Instagram's Explore tab. I love the way she edits her photos. Her minimalist style is something that I hope I can achieve too haha. Chriselle's already a mom and I actually thought she wasn't because she looked super young. She's probably one of my favorite fashionistas in the ~interwebsz~
  7. Conde Nast Traveler's Facebook Page - If a genie would appear right now and ask me what kind of career I'd like to do forever  next to being a National Geographic photographer  I'd chose to become a travel writer for Conde Nast Traveler without any hesitation. Why? Visit their Facebook page and website. Who wouldn't want to become a travel writer for one of the world's biggest travel magazines?
  8. The Ultimate Travel Guide to the 81 Provinces of the Philippines - I've never been outside of the Philippines yet, and I'm more than okay with experiencing a few of my country's 7, 107 islands for now. One of my goals in life is to tick off every item on this list. Our country's immensely blessed with so many breathtaking places that's worth visiting. I hope I get to achieve this before I turn 25 haha fingers crossed!
  9. Lana Del Rey's Honeymoon Album - Queen Lana's latest album came out last year and I've listened to it several times already. It was only this week that I couldn't stop playing it over and over again. It actually helped me focus on my tasks haha. Huge thanks to Lana's gorgeous voice! If you haven't listened to her album yet, I strongly recommend you give it a try ;)
  10. 21 Unique Themed Restaurants to Visit in the Philippines - Good food in a place with good ambience and cool design? I'm in! The places listed in this article makes me want to book a flight to Manila just to do a food crawl haha
I don't know if you guys noticed but most of the stuff I mentioned here are about travelling and style. That's what I'm currently addicted to. If you know other websites and videos that are about travelling, home design, and fashion, please don't hesitate to share them down below in the comments section.

What about you guys? What websites, videos, or articles did you stumble upon lately? :)
