How long has it been? My fingers can't even count the days that has passed by that I didn't do an update for my blog series, especially the What's In My Bag? one. The last time I posted something under this category was ages ago in my old Tumblr blog. It was full of all the things I needed to survive each day in school. It would've been cool to have that post here and see how my bag contents has evolved throughout the years. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the original post anymore. Anyway, let's get started with this "out of college" edition of this blog series :)
I've always been the kind of person who doesn't like to burden myself by bringing so many things when I go out of the house. I always try to keep it simple: just bring all the necessary stuff and leave the rest. This philosophy has been applied whenever I pack my bags for out-of-town trips too.
On normal days like when I go out of the house to do some errands or meet up with my friends, I only bring a small sling bag (that I borrowed/stole from my mom) with my essentials. I'm not a big fan of using a huge shoulder bag or a backpack unless I need it to carry my laptop or my DSLR (or both lol what a nightmare).
Pictured below are basically the stuff I bring with me when I go to the city:
I recently bought my Winona sunglasses from Sunnies Studios and it has never left my bag ever since. I'm a big fan of sunglasses and as of now, I have three pairs. I love them so much that one pair of sunglasses would live for at least 2 years with me.
My planner is an open-dated and soft-bound planner from UNDO Clothing. I got it early this year and I'm loving the fact that it's open-dated. You can use it whenever you want without the pressure of putting something on each space. I don't know if I'm making sense to you guys but I think those planners that has dates on them already, makes me feel like "I need to write something on this day." or "I need to plan something here" just to fill up that empty space. With this planner, I get to write dates, events, reminders, or my to-do list whenever I want.
Sometimes I don't bring it with me because, even though it's soft-bound, it's still quite heavy for me. So when I don't really need it, I leave it in my room and check back on it later when I'm home.
The thing that's missing in the picture, which I think is such an important item in my bag is my trusty umbrella. I'm living in a tropical country and the weather is unpredictable. It can be super sunny in the morning, and it can rain cats and dogs in the afternoon. That's why having an umbrella ready in my bag is super important.
I don't really bring a kikay kit. In fact, I don't even have one. All I really need is just a loose baby powder and a lipstick. I don't know how to put makeup on yet but that's something I intend to learn for the sake of social events. As much as possible, I like to not use it because I get quite sweaty whenever I'm outside and it'll definitely become a hassle for me. And I'm the kind of person who doesn't like to be stressed out with stuff that I know I can be better off without. So yeah...I'm still trying to come to terms with makeup lol.
So that's pretty much what's inside my bag most of the time. Back when I was in college, it was more packed but now that I'm only going out of the house for errands, work, and social events, this is what I bring with me most of the time now.
I'll be doing a post similar to this one but I'll be showing and writing about stuff that I usually bring when I go on out-of-town trips. I'll keep you guys posted :)
What about you? What are your bag essentials? Oh and what do you think about wearing makeup everyday? It'll be cool to read your two cents about it! :)
