Iloilo City: Travel Tips When Visiting The City of Love

Out of all the cities I've visited in the Philippines, Iloilo City has got to be one of my favorites so far. Well for obvious reasons, it's a huge city but they still keep that laid back, small town vibe. There are several modern establishments already but they preserve their heritage sites very well. These are some of the reasons why I booked those promo plane tickets last year.

We'll Always Have Summer

Siargao Island, Philippines

During the Labor Day weekend, my high school friends and I spent 6 hours on the road and 4 hours on a boat to reach one of the country's gems, Siargao Island. Although I just got back from a weekend trip in Cebu and Iloilo, I couldn't say no to this trip and to my friends. They've been dying to go to the island since last year.

Wander Responsibly

In 2015, my college classmates and I journeyed to Oslob which was in the southern part of Cebu. We had one mission in mind that day and it was to see the whale sharks up close. Before we were ushered to our boat, there was a short talk about the rules we need to follow. After that, we were off to see them. Yes, the experience was unlike any other, but for me, it didn't really feel so good.

Iloilo City and Guimaras Island In One Weekend

Western Visayas, Philippines

The month of April has been a busy one for me. Not only did I hustle twice as hard at work but I also explored (and re-explored!) places. This time, my feet took me to The City of Love, Iloilo City, and the mango capital of the Philippines, Guimaras Island, and I tagged my brother and sister along.
