Thoughts on Living Independently in Primavera City
Once upon a time, there was a silly 15 year-old high school girl who did not write “living independently” first in her list of priorities. All she thought about when asked what she wanted in the future was to buy clothes without looking at price tags and well...getting a car. It didn’t came to her mind that investing on a house or a condo is more important than shopping ‘till she drops and driving around town in a shiny red car.
Uh-huh. Yes, you guessed it. That silly girl was me.
Growing up, I relied on the fact that my parents will let me live with them as long as I want to. Even though that’s true (because they’re my parents after all), as time passed by, I realized that it would be too much. It’s part of the Filipino culture to have a closely knit family, but that doesn’t mean living with them under one roof until you’ll have a family of your own too. I realized that sooner or later I have to get my own place and start to live independently. The bird has got to leave the nest haha!
Now, I have set my mind on investing on my own place. Since I’m starting young, getting a condo for me and eventually for my future family is the dream. For me, there’s nothing quite like living in a condo with a breathtaking view that I’ll see outside my window everyday. Every night, I’ll be surrounded with twinkling city lights. I can relax and take a dip in the pool whenever I want to. Going to the gym to sweat out won’t be too difficult because it’s located in the same building where I live. It’s basically like doing a staycation in your own hotel everyday.
There are a lot of visually appealing condos with several high-end amenities in the city, but Italpinas Development Corporation’s (IDC) Primavera Residences has got to be my favorite one yet.
For one, it has a modern Italian design infused with eco-friendly architecture. Since I’m pretty much in love with anything Italian (the food, the culture, the places, the language, and the design), I guess you can say that I was instantly smitten by this condo.
Aside from its design, it’s also the first eco-friendly condominium complex in Cagayan de Oro. Its green features include increased natural ventilation, shaded facade, and a semi-transparent photovoltaic panel which covers the amenities located on the rooftop, among others. Since Philippines is an oh-so warm country, living in a condo that invites natural ventilation guarantees a cooler environment. You can save up energy by reducing the use of airconditioners and electric fans.
Recently, IDC has set the launch of its new huge and groundbreaking project – Primavera City in Pueblo de Oro Business Park, Upper Carmen, Cagayan de Oro during the second quarter of this year. The Phase 1 of Primavera City comprises the construction of two towers, both with integrated multi-functional buildings with 11 floors each. Cagayan de Oro’s uptown living and development is really starting to skyrocket! Literally and figuratively :)
The construction will start during the third quarter of this year. Its two towers is designed to have 337 units. Fifty-seven of them are commercial with an average size of 50 to 60 sqm; 231 are studio-type (28 sqm); 22 are one-bedroom (47 sqm); and 27 are two-bedroom units (70 sqm). I think I’m fine with a studio-type or a one-bedroom unit. Ahh I can’t help but think about how I’ll decorate the place! I’ll finally be able to achieve my design pegs that I’ve posted under Weekly Favorites :)
IDC targets the completion of the project and the turnover of its units to their owners by the third quarter of 2018, which I hope is the right time for me to buy a unit for myself.
As much as I would love to revel in the moment of being in my early 20′s with travels and #squadgoals in mind, I also have to begin thinking about plans that will benefit me in the long run. I think investing on a place to call my own in an eco-friendly and stylishly designed (with a modern Italian flair! *heart eyes*) condominium complex is a wise step to living the dream!
