Get Stoked at CDO's First Skate Park
One of my blogging goals this year is to write more about my city, its surrounding cities and municipalities. There are quite a lot of cool places and fun things to do that do not get the kind of exposure they deserve. Just like the newly opened Sovereign Skate Park in Tambo, Macasandig. I guess you could say that both local and visiting shredders are on cloud nine now that this place has become one of their skate destinations.
To be honest, I haven’t really been to the park but I’m looking forward to paying a visit there any time this month with a few friends. The photos posted here are taken by my brother using my camera. He’s a big fan of skateboarding and long boarding. So when he heard that this place was finally open to the public, he and his friends went and showed their ~skilzz~
The skate park has two sections: the small one for advanced boarders, and the larger one for beginners. The area for advanced boarders has steep ramps, while the area for beginners have less steep ramps. A P 50.00 entrance fee is required upon entering and this amount is already good for a one-day use of the park. Not bad at all!
BMX Riders are welcome too!
The skate park also offers skateboarding clinics — something extreme that people might want to try this summer. I might try it myself just to prove to myself that I can do it haha!
Aside from the skate area and the skateboard clinics, the park also has a skate shop where people can buy affordable boards and parts.
I guess you could say it’s a one-stop place to satisfy your skateboarding needs! If you’re visiting Cagayan de Oro soon and you want to try something new, head on to Sovereign Skate Park. They are located right beside Royal Pam Mansions. Keep an eye for the San Lorenzo Ruiz Chapel in Biasong - Tinib Road. It’ll be easy to locate the place when you see the church.
